Derrick Stevenson
Derrick Stevenson is a music visionary and a highly sought after producer & engineer of Gospel, R&B, and Jazz music. Mr. Stevenson's mastery to create chart-topping hits across a multitude of genres has made him well received as one of the most profuse record producers & engineers in the industry.
Derrick's body of work has included Stellar, Grammy, and Dove award winners and nominees in the likes of Tasha Cobbs, Bishop Paul Morton, John P. Kee and New Life, Dottie Peoples, Lowell Pye , Steve McCoy, Darwin Hobbs, Vashawn Mitchell, Bryan A. Wilson, and Monica Lisa Stevenson. He has also serviced clients who have scaled the music charts such as Kevin Lemons & Higher Calling, The Full Gospel Baptist Fellowship Choir, B. Chase Williams & Shabach, Terrence Cotton, Marcia Chisolm, Keni Myles and Peabo Bryson. Derrick has also served as a Producer and or Engineer for various Gospel Compilation albums.
With an anointed ear and profound musicianship, Derrick became a prodigy on the drums, bass, and Hammond organ/ keyboards by the age of 12 where he played for his father’s Pentecostal church. Throughout His childhood in Milledgeville, GA where he grew up and advanced in music, he graduated in 1997 from Baldwin High School to further his education and endeavors. Upon graduating high school He enrolled in college at Morris Brown in Atlanta where He majored in Music Industry & Business, joined the Morris Brown Concert Choir, and The New Life AUC Choir, under the leadership of Bishop Jeron C. Williams. He quickly discovered his calling in music production and eventually started his own production company, Puretonez Productions. His current roster includes Monica Lisa Stevenson, Terrence Cotton, and Lowell Pye (in conjunction with E One). Also in December 2011, he released his own Christmas EP entitled “A Classic Touch of Christmas”.
Out of all His accomplishments, most importantly, He is the proud Father of five wonderful children: Qwenton, Khalon, D’errica, Derrick, Jr. & Zion and a dedicated husband to Gospel Artist Mrs. Monica Lisa Stevenson. He also is currently employed as the music director at Fairfield Baptist Church (11 years), under the leadership of Pastor Micheal Benton. He is also currently the CEO of Puretonez Productions and Studio, where he serves as lead producer, recording and mix engineer, and gospel artist development consultant.
